Right on, looking at that flash, it looks almost identical to my Phoenix, except i believe mine isn't ETTL compatible, so it's a one-trick pony on light output. I'll have to doublecheck the manual though haha... If it's basically the same as mine though, it'll fire with those triggers.

Have fun at the wine tasting! :D

Cool. Will have to research compatibility. Got a Bower SFD728C today from Overstock as a Black Friday online special, about 60 bucks after shipping. I've needed a better flash than the on-board and this was the first thing that seemed decent, compatible and affordable. I had a pack of batteries waiting for it, but someone (won't point fingers at roommate who knew I had the batteries and chews up AAs like snackfood) appears to have ganked two of them. Testing will wait til tomorrow now. Going to a wine tasting in the evening. My Rebel XT is attending as well ;)

Remotes definitely help. I've been using flash very limited unless I'm indoors with a 8-12" white ceiling for the most part, and bounce it off of that. Straight-on flash is murder.

I picked up the Cactus v4 trigger set, available from Midwest Photo Exchange here:
http://www.mpex.com/browse.cfm/4,12662.html

Dirt cheap, and pretty much the best set you'll find under $100. They don't fire all flashes though, such as the Sunpak Digital 2800 or whatever it is (Also called the PZxxx or something). But they'll fire almost anything.

The other option would be to get a long PC sync cable. Although honestly, for the price of a long sync cable, and the hotshoe adapter if your flash doesn't have a plug for the cable, you'd be in the same range as the triggers hehe.

On-camera for now. Plan to look for some remotes later on down the road. Thanks for the diagram. I need to find some model wannabes around here willing to let me practice my photography with them.

Thanks Jay, glad it turned out to not be a trainwreck of blown highlights. :D Can't wait to see what you do with your flash, are you triggering it off-camera, or on?

Dude, LouAllen, it came out great for some "ghetto lighting." I just got my shoe-mount flash today, finally, and can't wait to try it out.
